Typhoon Greenfield Development Limited operates its flagship gold mining concession in Adomanu, Adansi North District, Ashanti Region of Ghana — a historic gold-rich belt renowned for its world-class deposits. Our concession spans 877 acres (approximately 4 km²), strategically positioned within the Ashanti Gold Belt, one of Africa’s most prolific gold-bearing geological formations.
The Adomanu concession lies within the Birimian Supergroup, hosting highly mineralized metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks with abundant quartz veins and sulfide ore bodies. Extensive exploration and geological assessments indicate significant gold potential, with estimated reserves of over 470,000 ounces of high-grade gold.
Our mining operations are carried out under a 5-year Minerals Commission license and full environmental permits from the EPA and relevant authorities. Typhoon employs open-pit mining methods, coupled with gravity-based processing systems that avoid harmful chemicals like mercury and cyanide. This ensures responsible gold recovery while protecting the surrounding ecosystem.
We have developed a comprehensive Mining Operating Plan (MOP) that integrates:
Land reclamation initiatives, including the reforestation of degraded sites with coconut and other tree species.
Over 70% of our workforce is recruited locally, with structured training to transfer skills and create lasting livelihoods. In addition, royalties and community development contributions directly support health facilities, local infrastructure, and traditional authorities in Adansi North.
